Tiffany Haddish & The White Dress: A Fashion Hero
By now you've all heard the news. Tiffany Haddish, breakout star of the movie "Girls Trip," wore a $4000 Alexander McQueen gown not once but three times. Who knew such a fashion faux pas could be both stylish and eco-friendly?
Too often celebrities wear elaborate designer duds on the Red Carpet and then the garments are never to be seen again by the public eye. This is even more disheartening when such garments are laced with labor intensive materials and stones such as animal fur and diamonds. There are even some non-celebrity folk (regular people like you and I) that wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same thing twice.
That unspoken rule as well as social media capturing our every move, it's a breath of fresh air to see Ms. Haddish throw style caution to the wind. Although her intention may have only been to get her money's worth, such a move was definitely a first in the fashion world.
Our Earth's resources are scarce despite what most people may think. We need for more public figures to make such stances about recycling. Just because you wear something once does not mean it's then considered trash. True style comes from how you wear something and not the number of times you wear it. Haddish did an amazing job of making each rendition of this McQueen dress a showstopper by switching up her hair, make-up and accessories. Are you all taking notes?
Hopefully, this is one trend that catches fire...
